WHO...

My homeschool Zoo Crew meetings are open to homeschoolers of all ages.

As a homeschooler myself, I embrace the value to be found in multi-age classroom learning. Younger students learn from the modeled behaviors of older students. Older students are welcome to share their knowledge and gain teaching experience, while also learning how to be a positive role-model. It is my goal to provide an inclusive, tolerant, safe, opportunity-rich environment that fosters learning about conservation and the natural world.

That said, the most common age range regularly participating is 6-12. This is the general level to which I gauge my lessons. I trust in the ability of each family to know their child's abilities and limitations. Younger siblings are welcome to tag along, as long as they are not disruptive to the learning environment. During our classroom time, I can make available drawing/coloring supplies and storybooks that are available for grown-ups to use quietly with younger children. If you have more advanced animal lovers who would like more in-depth information, let me know and I will be happy to share links and resources.

As an educator, I ask that each adult be responsible for the behavior of the child(ren) they bring. If one of the children you are responsible for is being loud or disruptive to the class, please be responsible for stepping outside with them until their behavior can be respectful of our learning environment. Any student/family that continues to disrupt the class may be asked to leave.

If you have any questions or concerns about this behavior policy, feel free to contact me at TBZjen@will.to
